Law Firm Gets New Name -- Steven Lau Named as Partner

In the Fall of 2005, the Law Office of Edward C.Y. Lau officially changed its name to the Lau & Lau Law Group LLP. The principals are the same and the general firm makeup has not changed. The name change was made because Edward Lau's son, Steven Lau, was made a partner in the firm. Steven Lau has been a lawyer with the firm since 1994. Before then, he worked as a legal assistant during summers in high school, college and law school. In terms of running the firm, Steven Lau is largely responsible for the technological aspects. He created the firms website, set up the computer network, created all of the marketing advertisements, conducts legal research on the internet and Westlaw, and makes sure that the firm is up-to-date on the latest technology.

The firm is excited to have a father and son team running the new firm. Gradually, Steven Lau will take on more responsibility running the firm. This will create a fresh perspective as we face the changing legal needs of the 21st Century.
